Marco Rubio Calls For Strikes
Since he arrived on Capitol Hill in 2011, Rubio's been more interventionist on American foreign policy than his potential tea party-backed rivals. And recent international turmoil has given the freshman senator from West Miami a chance to demonstrate the kind of foreign policy he'd wage if he becomes president

The Hillsborough Democratic Party Sucks
Why, in a county where Democrat voters outnumber Republican voters by about 60,000, is it a foregone conclusion Republicans control the county's governing body?
The Hillsborough Democratic party has long struggled at the basic elements of organization for local races, like fundraising and grooming candidates. Friday marked the end of qualifying for local elections, finalizing the field of candidates vying for four open seats on the Hillsborough County Commission. And, yet again, it appears unlikely Democrats will pick up a majority on the seven-member commission, where they now hold two seats and would be lucky to pick up another.
One of the races ended Friday, as incumbent Republican Ken Hagan drew no opposition in countywide District 5.
One other race will be decided without Democrat involvement, as three Republicans and a write-in candidate are vying for eastern Hillsborough's District 4, vacated by term-limited

Obama Helps GOP Find Their Penises
This weekend the far-right arm of the Republican party is getting their self-righteous on at the Freedom and Faith Coalition annual herding. There’s the usual pandering, hate speech and smugness unencumbered by self-reflection of any kind. Exactly what we’d expect from an event sponsored by
Ralph Reed’s hate group. here
The guest list includes some of the very best in right-wing hate-mongers and apologists: Michele Bachmann, John Bolton, Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee, Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul, Phyllis Schafly, Paul Ryan, Grover Norquist and Rick Santorum. Their token people of color this year include Herman Cain,
Allen West and Dinesh D’Souza.

Pre-Iraq War Views Of Florida Legend Bob Graham
"On Oct. 9, 2002, Graham — the guy everyone thought of as quiet, mild-mannered, deliberate, conflict-averse — let loose on his Senate colleagues for going along with President
Bush's war against Iraq.
Bush's war against Iraq.
"We are locking down on the principle that we have one evil, Saddam Hussein. He is an enormous, gargantuan force, and that's who we're going to go after," Graham said on the floor. "That, frankly, is an erroneous reading of the world. There are many evils out there, a number of which are substantially more competent, particularly in their ability to attack Americans here at home, than Iraq is likely to be in the foreseeable future."
He told his fellow senators that if they didn't recognize that going to war with Iraq without first taking out the actual terrorists would endanger Americans, "then, frankly, my friends — to use a blunt term —
the blood's going to be on your hands." here

Florida Republicans Crackerjack Idea
The geniuses running the Republican campaign effort in Florida have now decided that stirring opposition to medical marijuana will help Gov. Rick Scott win. The question is why the Republican brain trust thinks it’s a crackerjack idea to attack a popular social cause while Scott is fighting tooth-and-nail to save his job. The governor will be in deep trouble if thousands and thousands of marijuana advocates show up to vote in November. They’re not exactly his core constituency, so why get them riled?
