The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning about weight loss products that were sold online and could be fatal if they are ingested.
The FDA and the Maryland Department of Health said they have determined that “certain weight loss products labeled as Nuez de la India, and potentially marketed as “botanical food,” “India Nuts for Weight Loss,” “slimming seeds,” “India seeds for weight loss,” or “diet seeds,” appear to be highly toxic yellow oleander, a poisonous plant native to Mexico and Central America.”

Suspended State Attorney Monique Worrell sues DeSantis

Suspended State Attorney Monique Worrell filed a lawsuit Wednesday in the state Supreme Court against Gov. Ron DeSantis, claiming that he had no grounds to suspend her.
Worrell, who was elected as the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola counties), claims that DeSantis’ Aug. 9 executive order fails to “allege facts that, even if true, would relate to any neglect of duty or incompetence.”

Death rates for people under 40 have skyrocketed. Blame fentanyl
A new Stateline analysis shows that U.S. residents under 40 were relatively unscathed by COVID-19 in the pandemic but fell victim to another killer: accidental drug overdose deaths.
Death rates in the age group were up by nearly a third in 2021 over 2018, and last year were still 21% higher.
