Advocates of mandates argued that vaccines represented the best tool for protecting people against a virus that has now killed more than 1 million Americans while those against them argued for personal freedom and the ability of people to make their own choices.....Read More

Florida Democrat Now Proclaims Illegals Are “Citizens” Once They Arrive To America

Left-wing Florida Rep. Maxwell Frost continues sticking to his argument that the poem adorning the Statue of Liberty should actually be considered U.S. policy on immigration.

One difference, however, is that he’s arguing America does not need immigration law at all, since any illegal is automatically a U.S. “citizen” once they arrive in America.

Robin Lockett talks Tampa’s proposed juvenile curfew

Tampa City Council recently advanced a juvenile curfew ordinance, despite what Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reports is a lack of comprehensive data or plan for enforcement. The proposed citywide ordinance, in part, prohibits youth under the age of 16 from being out after 11 p.m. and could result in a $50 fine.

Robin Lockett, Regional Director at Florida Rising, expressed disappointment at the fact that the conversation and urgency came after this happened in Ybor City, and she spoke more about Tampa’s march towards a final ordinance vote on Jan. 25.

How Florida contributed to a national homelessness spike

Homelessness in the U.S. reached a record high last year, driven in part by an increase in unhoused Floridians.

More than half of all Americans experiencing homelessness — sheltered and unsheltered — were concentrated in four states including Florida.

That's according to an annual report from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Meanwhile, the report shows the state had the second highest rate of unsheltered homeless people, behind California.

Any chance that registered Democratic Party voters in Florida would participate in this March’s presidential primary ballot ended last Friday, when a federal judge rejected a Tampa attorney’s bid for a preliminary injunction.

The move might have allowed Secretary of State Cord Byrd to place the name of three other Democrats on the March 19 presidential primary preference ballot in addition to President Joe Biden. But that didn’t happen.

“If we are worried about the rise of authoritarianism in this country, if we are worried about the potential rise of fascism in this country, if we are worried about our democracy falling [into] an authoritarian and potentially fascist form of government, the leader who is trying to do that is part of that equation, but people wanting that is a much bigger part of that equation and the American electorate is made up of two major parties,” Maddow told a panel.....Read More
