After 50 Years Miami Cubans Finally Figure It Out
Earlier this month, nearly a year to the day President Barack Obama shocked Cuban Americans with the news that the U.S. would reestablish relations with the Castro regime
----------
A group of Cuban-American business people, almost all from Miami, quietly traveled to the island to see for themselves what, if anything, had changed. Most of the 10 men — even a couple of otherwise staunch conservatives — returned convinced
that stronger ties to the U.S. would help Cubans. here

Rick Scott's Florida Criminal Justice System
As other states reformed their criminal justice systems in the past year to reduce their prison populations by updating their sentencing laws and establishing new programs for the re-entry of offenders, Florida remained on the sidelines, according to a new report from the bipartisan U.S. Justice Action Network. here

Sandy Murman's Tea Party Advisors
Murman became a no vote on the Go Hillsborough referendum. She has another idea, well it closely reflects ideas and even language put forth by tea party members and a prominent anti-tax activist from
Pinellas County. here
----------
Tea Party activists, who had been imploring county commissioners to shut down Go Hillsborough and forget the sales tax, cheered Murman’s bold move.
----------
“Sandy, I can’t tell you how proud of I am of your stepping out to lead on the transportation issue. It is fantastic. Thank you for your courage and your dedication to finding the best way for the county." Ken Roberts, Tea Party
Roberts had every reason to be proud. Murman’s plan borrowed heavily from one he had been shopping to commissioners for months.
No Show Marco Rubio

SPB: Bob Buckhorn Scandals
"The day after the 2014 elections, Buckhorn all but declared that he would run for governor in 2018. In fact, the Tampa mayor entered 2015 as the de facto frontrunner for the Democratic nomination. That was then; this is now. After a series of troubling scandals, including revelations that his police department disproportionately targeted black residents and that one of his chief political advisers, Beth Leytham, is nothing less than the Rasputin of Riverwalk, many Democrats now wonder if Buckhorn will even run in 2018. Meanwhile, his lackluster fundraising for his political committee, expected to be a vehicle for a 2018 run, isn’t inspiring much confidence."

Rubio added his name to a letter addressed to FCC chairman Tom Wheeler, urging the FCC to block municipalities from providing broadband services to their residents. Municipalities such as Chattanooga, which provides broadband access up to one gigabit per second, are allowing their residents to have access to broadband at faster speeds and cheaper prices than telecoms such as AT&T. here
