Nearly 1 Million In Florida Have Voted By Mail Ahead Of Nov. 5 Election


As of midday Friday, nearly 1 million Floridians have cast their votes by mail for the upcoming November 5 election, according to data posted on the state Division of Elections website. A total of 990,989 mail-in ballots have been submitted to local election supervisors.

Registered Democrats have returned the largest share of ballots, submitting 423,249 votes, while Republicans have returned 363,899. Independent voters accounted for 184,059 mail-in ballots, and 19,782 were filed by voters affiliated with minor parties.

Nearly 80 pets went missing during Hurricane Milton in Florida's Polk County alone, the county sheriff's office said.
