Last summer, President Barack Obama unveiled his Clean Power Plan, a proposal that would implement new EPA standards for power plants to reduce carbon emissions 32 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. Big business interests and Right Wingers (such as Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi) cheered when the proposal was stayed by the U.S. Supreme Court last month. here When Florida DINO Patrick E. Murphy was asked if he thought the proposal was unfair to industry, Murphy said that there are too many unnecessary regulations imposed on businesses, and touted his co-sponsonship with South Carolina Republican Mick Mulvaney of the Regulatory Improvement Act, which created a commission to review and revise redundant regulations.

Florida INC. One Billion Dollar Rate Hike
We have just a week to stop Florida Power and Light's (FPL) rate hike request for unnecessary power plants that burn fracked gas.
On November 29, the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will decide whether to allow the rate hike requested by FPL, which includes more than one billion dollars' worth of power plants that will soon be obsolete as FPL itself expects solar power and batteries to out-compete plants that burn gas.
As FPL showed by spending millions of dollars to support Amendment 1 and thwart the growth of rooftop solar, FPL will stop at almost nothing to put its profits before people -- whether it's stunting the clean energy economy in the Sunshine state, or needlessly increasing the state's reliance on fracked gas. Fortunately, Florida voters saw through the charade last week and voted down Amendment 1.
Don't let FPL put its profits ahead of your health, our economy and the environment.
Call the PSC today at 1-800-342-3552 to let them know you oppose FPL's rate hike request for unnecessary gas plants.

Presidente Obama Welcome To Miami
Pres. you could not have come visit us at a better time. The Florida Democratic Party sucks. You want your Legacy to stay intact, you need to stop supporting Debbie Wasserman Schultz and have a very serious talk with her. You guys are trying to cram an Ex-Republican (Murphy) down our throats. Florida INC. has kept us from your Obamacare, we don't have high speed rail between Tampa and Orlando that you wanted to buy us, they are polluting our water, the Florida Frackers are doing everything they can to destroy our way lilfe. Florida DOT is attacking Tampa. While you are here talk to our leader Susan Smith and please see if you can talk the Mayor of Miami Beach into running for governor. here
Again, welcome to Miami. Lets hope our grand-kids can enjoy it too.

Florida INC. - Liesa Priddy
The state pays nearly $1 million a year to biologists to study the Florida panther. Yet when the state's top wildlife official decided to rewrite Florida's panther policy to overhaul how the state manages the endangered cats, he didn't consult them until the document was done. Instead, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission executive director Nick Wiley brainstormed almost exclusively with Immokalee ranch owner Liesa Priddy who was appointed to the wildlife commission in 2012 by Gov. Rick Scott. here

Free Lube For Florida GOP Voters Who Like To Take It Deep
The ecological disaster in the St. Lucie River and the Caloosahatchee River, including the Everglades and Florida Bay, is a toxic warning to taxpayers and voters that they cannot trust Florida INC. CEO Rick Scott or his board of directors who have allowed poor water policies to poison and degrade Florida's most valuable resources.
-----------
Scott implemented his agenda of promoting big business donors by killing growth management, stacking the water management districts, signing harmful legislation, setting in motion a political ideology that has ignored science and fact, and killing responsible government efforts to address environmental problems. here

Florida INC. Power Grab For Control Of The Courts
After the Florida Supreme Court ruled that the partisan maps drawn by the Republican-controlled Legislature violated the Fair Districts amendments, Florida GOP John Wood, of Polk, called for impeachment proceedings against the justices. Now, Wood and his colleagues in the House are asking the people of Florida to believe that the judicial term-limits bill passed in the House has absolutely nothing to do with payback.
Don’t buy it. here

The truth is the judicial branch is the only thing that can prevent the governor and the Legislature from enacting unconstitutional laws.

Florida INC. Adding More Toxic Chemicals To Our Water
Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is proposing a rule to ease restrictions on toxic chemicals in our surface waters, and the rule will have direct impact on our health. The Environmental Regulation Commission (ERC), a seven-member committee appointed by the governor and tasked with setting standards and rules to protect Florida’s citizens and waterways, is considering adopting a new rule, proposed by DEP, that would allow higher limits for dozens of cancer-causing chemicals. here

Florida Inc. Hits Tampa Bay
Desantis, Moody and Patronis all sided with their campaign donors, unsurprisingly. We did see progress in that Nikki Fried signaled to the community that she is here to stand up for Floridians on climate change. So there is hope beyond Thursday's vote.
It's tough when you are going against a quarter million dollars of reelection money and God knows how much more in "steak dinners". I know that we had the facts presented clearly in the room and Desantis chose to ignore those and let TECO get their gas plans approved.
I'll save the speech on fracking, which is IMO the worst ecological crisis facing us today. The fact that the Gov. cut voices short, ignored detailed evidence on the benefits of solar vs the downfalls of gas and held ZERO discussion on the issue tells you everything you need to know about Ron Dishonest.
This quote says it all:
“If you approve this, you have lower emissions. I mean, that's just the fact,” said DeSantis
But some, like Brian Lee with Rethink Energy Florida, argue methane, the primary fuel source for natural gas plants, is equally problematic.
“There are leaks at every point in the process that are equivalent to the CO2 emissions of all coal that is burned in the country,” said Lee. Governor Ron DeSantis, why do you continue to ignore the facts. Oh yeah, that's right. You are looking at your own reelection campaign instead of protecting FL. Don't even care about your hometown of Dunedin, Florida? A place that will be gone soon due to these types of projects you just approved. Well, keep voting against our future and we will make to see you at the voting booth! Believe that.

Florida INC. Taking Control
Of the nearly 1,850 bills filed this session, the Florida League of Cities has identified about 550 that affect cities in some way or another. The Florida Association of Counties is tracking 38 bills that pre-empt county rule, create unfunded mandates and carve out tax exemptions that sap projected revenues. here
----------
“This is an ongoing onslaught. A lot of times at council meetings we tell people we’d love to do that but the state pre-empts us from controlling our own destiny in some ways. When businesses don’t like what happens at home they turn to the state to get their way and pre-empt local authority. That’s an end run against our citizens and communities.” Tampa City Councilwoman Lisa Montelione
