2020 Election Quick Reference

I have compiled a list of candidates running in federal, state and county elections that will appear on the ballots in Hillsborough County. I thought this list might be of help to those who want to research the qualifications and viewpoints of the candidates before entering the voting booth. I have begun adding links to the candidate's campaign website, facebook page or twitter account as I find them. Just click on a candidate's name if you see that it is color highlighted. When I can finish adding links to the complete page, I will repost this article. For now though, I thought it would be a good place to start.

Words of Kent Bailey

For decades, an extreme excess of money from fossil fuels has funded conflict in the Middle East. Limiting petrol-dollars would do much to stabilize the region. We can achieve this thru the peaceful, global development of renewable energy. A policy based on the pursuit of peace thru continued death and destruction will continue to fail, even if escalated to
apocalyptic proportions.
The aggressive development and export of renewable energy technology can render this Endless War economically unsustainable for America's enemies while simultaneously creating tens of millions of jobs in the United States. Reducing the demand and the price for gas and oil will also make many of the deep-water, shale oil, fracking, arctic and other marginally profitable extraction schemes no longer profitable.
And, oh by the way, we can save our grandchildren's planet in the process. HERE
--
Beyond individual actions, we must act collectively to reject those who reject Science and demand climate action. TECO, HART, the Tampa Bay Times and our Governor insist that CNG reduces carbon emissions when Science tells us that the fugitive methane (gas that escapes into the atmosphere without being burned) makes CNG WORSE than either diesel or coal! Methane is 80X more potent as a greenhouse gas.

Help HART Driver Schnaider Prophete

Mr. Schnaider Prophete, a Bus Operator since 14 + Years for HART had been brutally attacked while performing his job and if it wasn't for a brave veteran patron, who stepped in, he might would not be with us anymore. HERE

All the Company was interested in was,
with a phone call to the hospital

HART Plot?

5:30 PM
They blocked Florida Ave northbound at I275

So people started using Marion

Was this a plot by HART to let drivers know there is an alternative way home? A lot of these people probably didn't know this
place was here.

A Ferry Tale

The Tampa Bay Ferry is a fun day for the privileged, not a means of transportation for those who really need transportation.
Tampa commuters on their way to another hard day's work in St. Petersburg
It would be far more cost effective to expand the hours for the current rapid transit buses to St. Petersburg and South Hillsborough and let the privileged who won't ride on a bus with the unwashed masses pay for their own sightseeing excursions.

"While taxpayers paid $14.23 per ferry boarding last year, the similar cost per passenger was $6.17 for HART and $4.94 for PSTA." (Tampa Bay Times)

Tampa Crabs

"Sad part of all this is seeing so many Democrats currently in office lending their support to someone who puts campaign donations ahead of the people they serve.
Y’all crabs on this list should take notice that we see you backing sellouts.

For so many people who demand party loyalty, it's incredibly surprising to see support for a candidate who has REPEATEDLY voted against the Democratic platform and done so often. So much in fact, that she openly jokes about not being partyless". Jessica Vaughn HERE

"VOTE BLUE NO MATTER WHO? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! CANDIDATES RECORDS MATTER!!!
Susan Valdes continues to show support for charters, breaking from her party this year as the only House Democrat to vote in favor of expanding the Schools of Hope program critics said would lead to a flood of new charter schools." Beth Eriksen Shoup
