Bumper Stickers
And Freedom Of Speech
Jan Wesner Of The St. Pete Times writes, So I'm driving up I-75 the other day (northbound coming onto the interstate from Big Bend Road, for those who live around here) and I see this bumper sticker on the back of the car in front of me: "War is terrorism with a bigger budget." I sped up enough to get right beside the twenty-something woman in the driver's seat. I considered honking my horn and rolling down my window and giving her the middle finger. I probably would have, except for the fact that I was going 80 miles an hour and my phone started ringing.
Ms. Wesner, what you should of done is chase her down and tear that sticker off that bumper once she stopped. The nerve of that young woman having a sticker on her car that you dont agree with. its Un-American. before you try this i would read......this....or you can do what i do when i see a Bush or Pro War sticker on a bumper. i chase them down, pull up beside them, and give them my "What The Fuck Are You Thinking" look.

Stoogie, Jan's husband is fighting against our enemies and has been very neutral about the war. But she supports her husband and the troops 110 percent unlike you and your Move On. Org buddies. Someday you may get a clue but I doubt it ultra libs like yourself fight for the terrorists more than this country.

Neutral? Yeah, that finger thing falls right on the line.
I get it, dissent equals terrorism. What a fine American.

Another walking talking point.

Well, I'm sure not thinking Jan was herself when she was going 80 miles an hour and answering the phone. What the HELL? She does always seem reasonable and neutral (in the past, haven't read her lately) but her blog has attracted a mainstay of service wives who seem to view things a bit clinically which --- call me crazy --- it just ain't humanity to ME. If humans were meant to be clinical we'd have all come with the chip and the stethoscope.

HowEVER, it has to be stressful to have your man far away, etc.... I actually developed an unexpected respect for Jan because I felt she was being set up as a cheerleader for the illegal war and found out she really wasn't cheering .... (and told her this, as well)

Stogie, you're such a quiet gentleman, I was almost more shocked by your reaction. Wow. I'd rather have the finger than the glaring and chasing . (though I'm well used to the chasing) (oh, and the glaring TOO from a certain rectangular bunch) ..... LOL.

When you drive a Porsche you get all kindsa shit from people and so today when people gesture at me I am able to laugh it off. Please do so. It's what the whole freedom of speech dealie is.
I mean, you're free to call each other fucking idjits all day long but ... dang, the unpleasantness and lack of couth. The bloody English are big on couth.
I think memorial day was hard for all of us. For or against it was not a good day.
I guess the whole road-rage thing seemed unhealthy to me. I've called people a few names on the web back in the day and once recently ... but I'm not thinking of being caught up in people's mindless drama. It's very time-consuming and unproductive if sometimes funny as shit.

Okay now. Be nice. Or enjoy your free speech.

Or maybe both at the same time. LOL !!!
This war is really nothing to be nice over. It's time to stop it. I noticed someone else who jaws at me rudely --- their income is reliant on the death and destruction of others. That made them persona non grata IMMEDIATELY. How can you realistically support something with integrity when your house payment depends on it?? FUCKING LOL !!!!
Jan is different, jan has class and integrity unless she has changed a lot in the couple weeks I haven't been there.

Hey, thanks to those of you who have come to my defense here. Vox populi, I haven't changed. That bumper sticker just really did offend me, and I was just saying so.
But I wasn't offended by Stogie. On the blog, I am honest, sometimes to a fault. I say whatever I'm thinking at that moment when I sit down to write. It's almost stream of concsiousness.
I invite all opinions and viewpoints. That's part of the pleasure of writing the blog. Those daily conversations, comments and debate are often the highlight of my day. Sad, but true!

vox, when i chase i do it carefully. and the glaring, once i make eye contact only takes a few seconds. i think its more polite, and comes with the same satisfaction.

I guess I'm wrapped up in my own trip; I sometimes read other peoples' stuff but it does not incite me. I am known to laugh at them, some. Kindly. Hopefully.

The boyfriend says it's because I'm on another frequency. He calls me an antenna. LOL. I think it's a compliment.

I'm pretty much attuned, I'm just busy with my own vibe. Peace. Love. Hope. Stop the killing. That kinda stuff. I'm happy for people knowing where they stand and standing there.

Jan, that's what I like about you: you're honest. I've been surprised by you in the past and I'm sure there are more surprises coming. I wouldn't want MY man over there in that world for any reason, I respect your take. Send him our love. I think of you often !!
