A New Breed Of Cuban-American

For more than two decades, running for Congress in this sun-soaked capital of Cuban exiles has required two things: a Republican registration card and a hard line toward the Castro regime. And then came Joe Garcia

In a break with the exile community, Garcia campaigned in support of loosening restrictions on Cuban-Americans who want to visit relatives on the island or send them money. Since taking office, he has pushed for U.S. trials of a Cuba-developed diabetes treatment and for easing travel rules for Cuban diplomats who visit the U.S. And while Florida Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio, fumed when President Barack Obama shook hands with Cuban President Raul Castro last month, Garcia dismissed it as a simple courtesy.

Stop Fracking In Florida: Hydraulic Fracturing In Naples

Oil Drilling Truck Convoy headed for Naples
One of the newest controversies in the field of oil and gas extraction is playing out in South Florida, just outside of the City of Naples. Countdown Clocks 2014

Tampa's Abelardo Arteaga

There was a time when his neighbors celebrated the support Abelardo Arteaga gave to the Cuba of the Castro brothers. Fifty-five years ago this Jan. 1, Cubans in Ybor City and West Tampa danced in the street when the Cuban revolution declared victory. Much has changed since that day in 1959. Yet through it all, Arteaga, a Tampa native, has never wavered in his support of the island nation. At 91, Arteaga is the elder statesman among those in Tampa who would eliminate the trade and travel embargo imposed by the U.S. He has challenged it from the beginning.......more>

Pray For Allen West

To defeat progressive socialism, secular humanism, and radical Islamism, all of which are apparently embraced by Barack Obama. I ask that those who know the power of prayer, pray my strength and courage through God’s divine providence. Game on.  Steadfast and Loyal.......more>
Who is Allen West?
While serving in Iraq, West had his soldiers arrest an Iraqi police officer, and beat the living daylights out of him. Then, for good measure, West took out his own gun, and shot it right next to the Iraqi police officer's ear. West was convicted of violating the Military Code of Conduct,
fined $5000, and ushered out of the U.S. Army.
West somehow parlayed that experience into a seat in Congress, proving that there is fine, fine line between fame and infamy. During West's one term in Congress, he:
Denounced Democrats as "chicken men, said that "about 78 to 81, Democratic Congressman are "members of the Communist Party,"  characterized Obama supporters as "a threat to the gene pool," called Rep. Keith Ellison the "antithesis of the principles upon which this country was established" simply because Ellison is Muslim, and called Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the head of the Democratic National Committee, "the most vile, unprofessional, and despicable member of the US House of Representatives."
Now he works part time for FOX News.
