The cruelty was always the point, and the warnings about abortion restrictions have been proven true.
When the Supreme Court ruled — as the then-president had promised he would appoint justices to do — that the half-century precedent of Roe v. Wade was not to be upheld, doctors, legal experts, and reproductive rights advocates warned that this would not only hurt people seeking to end pregnancies but also those who wanted to carry a pregnancy safely to term.

DESANTIS OUTRAGE: Moms for Liberty founder appointed to Florida ethics board
Gov. Ron DeSantis has proven that he doesn’t care that we know that he’s happy to court the far-right fringe, but now he’s appointing the far-right fringe to critical government agencies.
Even worse, he is appointing far-right extremists to positions where they will judge the ethics of others.
DeSantis just appointed Tina Descovich, the co-founder of Moms for Liberty, to the Florida Ethics Commission.
