Mariella Smith Affordable Housing Success
This apartment community offers affordable housing that is virtually indistinguishable from the neighboring market-rate apartments, providing nice homes with modern amenities to struggling workers whose incomes have not kept up with rising rents. The Preserve at Sabal Park offers 144 units, and the adjacent Sabal Place offers 112 units, with 70% of those for families emerging from homelessness. And thanks to an exciting first-of-its kind partnership, Blue Sky Communities provides office space to Metropolitan Ministries, which provides on-site supportive services to give formerly homeless people the tools they need to get back on their feet and achieve financial security.

Buzz RIP
I first met this extraordinary creature 7 years ago when I moved in to a new apartment in South Tampa. He lived across the courtyard. Over time we became friends. He would always come say hello when he saw me. After a few months his owner had to move and couldn't take him with him, He was going to take him to a shelter, I told him I would adopt him. He warned me that he was Street Smart and had a reputation. He would stay out all night (Sometimes he would be gone 2-3 days) and sleep all day. It was impossible to change him, so I let him live his life. He did sit on my lap and watch the PC screen. Sit on my lap and watch TV together, spend the night on my bed.
and He would only eat Sheba brand cat food (Cuts, not Pate). Because of his risky lifestyle I knew someday I would lose him, I just didn't think it would hurt so bad. Goodbye my little buddy, I will never forget you!
