Florida's Culture Of Corruption

Florida’s federal lawmakers and their staffs took 103 privately sponsored trips in 2014 valued at more than $350,000. Foreign destinations included Sweden, Peru and Japan. In a number of cases, relatives came along and had their expenses covered. here

Topping the list was Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Jacksonville.
Other top travelers at a private group’s expense include
Rep.Ted Deutch, D-West Boca Raton ($20,713),
Sarasota's Rep Vern Buchanan

And Miami Cuban Mafia members
GOP Sen. Marco Rubio ($37,255),
GOP Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Miami-Dade, ($36,084),
 GOP Rep, Mario Diaz-Balart ($28,922), R-Miami-Dade

Joe Newman for Congress

A Sarasota man says he has the experience necessary to earn a seat in Congress. At 101-years old, Joe Newman certainly knows a thing or two,
so the centenarian is launching a bid for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Newman is competing for Florida's 16th Congressional District;

He is fighting for Vern Buchanan's (CREWS Most Corrupt)  seat.

Florida GOP: El CHAPO Act

Build the wall, wrote GOP Rep. Vern Buchanan of Florida’s 16th district in an opinion piece for the Bradenton Herald.

“We’re making a big push in Congress to pass the El CHAPO Act, which I’ve co-sponsored. This legislation would direct billions of dollars’ worth of the drug lord’s confiscated assets to help secure the southern border.” HERE

Tampa Bay Republicans: Fuck The Poor

Hungry Americans should long remember the vote taken last week by the House to endanger the nation's food stamp program. House Republicans stripped the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program out of the farm bill, where it had been since 1973, and then passed the legislation without a single Democratic vote. House Republicans are fine with spending billions of dollars to subsidize farmers, but they refuse to adequately fund or even take up legislation for a program that provides food aid to 47 million Americans, about half of them children. Every Republican member of Congress from the Tampa Bay area should explain why feeding hungry children is less important than crop insurance for agribusiness.
here
Republican members of the House from the Tampa Bay area who voted for the stand-alone farm bill last week, Reps. Gus Bilirakis, Palm Harbor; Richard Nugent, Spring Hill; Dennis Ross, Lakeland; C.W. Bill Young, Indian Shores; and Vern Buchanan, Sarasota. Only Rep. Kathy Castor, a Democrat from Tampa, voted against the bill. I hope you remember them come election day.

------------
Trump heads overseas for his first major trip as president, Republicans at the state level are looking at the wreckage he is leaving behind and wondering if he will kill the party before the 2018 midterms.
----------
Florida GOP consultant John McKager Stipanovich says if Trump doesn’t follow through on his campaign promises to repeal Obamacare and cut taxes, it will disastrous when the next election cycle comes around. If after all of the talk, after all of the chest-thumping, we can’t get anything done, we may get clubbed like baby seals in 2018.
----------
36 states have governor’s races next year, with incumbents and GOP challengers alike likely to be put in the awkward position of having to defend Trump. Additionally there may be the awkwardness of Trump offering to campaign for a local Republican — only to have the candidate ask the president of the United States to stay away. here

Florida GOP You Are Being Watched

The GOP tax heist is NOT a sure thing
This bill still has TWO very important hurdles to jump.
The House and Senate passed different versions of the bill. Before a bill can go to the White House to be signed, the EXACT VERSION must pass the House and the Senate. Since the House originated this one, and passed their version first, the Senate now has to send their version back to the House who will then call a CONFERENCE COMMITTEE. This is where the differences between the House and Senate versions are theoretically ironed out until there is one bill with language the House and Senate can
agree on.

So the version that comes out of Conference Committee must be voted on AGAIN! BOTH THE HOUSE AND SENATE HAVE TO VOTE ON THE BILL AGAIN.
----------
Here is Beth's Plan:
PUT PRESSURE ON THE HOUSE MEMBERS. If they get public push-back, they may start to get nervous because EVERY SEAT in the House of Representatives is up for re-election in 2018. So any R voting for this knows s/he may face *very* angry voters in less than a year. Every horrible thing we find in the bill as we read it over the weekend can be laid right at the feet of Republicans.

Remember you are being watched and this blog will post your every move.

America: What A Country

Former Disgraced Republican South Carolina Gov. and adulter Mark Sanford on Tuesday won back his old congressional seat in a district that hasn't elected a Democrat in three decades. I am sure he is headed to the Committee on Foreign Relations.
