Justice For Andrew Joseph III

Round 1 of accountability calls. Since 2014, the Joseph family has been fighting for justice for the tragic loss of their son Andrew Joseph III. We need to work together to continue bogging down the elected officials and leaders who have a say. I know it may be tough when one of those officials is usually a friend and ally.

However, Commissioner Les Miller serves on the Board of Directors and has the ability to be a voice for the Joseph family and hold the fair accountable. Do not allow party-line interfere with achieving justice. Please review this Google Form for more details, his phone # and a sample script and PLEASE be an active participant in justice. Questions? Water Street Tampa’ Moniker

An Albatross of Confusion, Banality, Damaging Imagery

Instead of emphasizing one of Tampa’s many cultural assets, the name connotes the area’s longtime unaddressed drainage problems.  It doesn’t take a Hurricane Irma for nearby Bayshore Boulevard to flood. Steady rainstorms are sufficient to provide footage of stranded automobiles on the 5 o’clock news.  Those images are viewed by tourists, conventioneers and occasionally on nationwide feeds.

Florida's Fake Abortion Clinics

The Citrus Taliban has Introduce legislation (HB 41) that would funnel taxpayer dollars to anti-abortion “crisis pregnancy centers” that spread misinformation and false information to pregnant women. here
-----
“Crisis pregnancy centers undermine women’s health through deception, shame, and junk science. By funding these anti-abortion fake clinics, Florida would put a stamp of approval on denying women the ability to make decisions about their own bodies and futures.
“Seven in ten Americans support legal access to abortion. Passing this bill would signal to Floridians that their lawmakers care more about propping up ideologically driven fake clinics than promoting comprehensive reproductive health care.” Progress Florida Executive Director Mark Ferrulo

Florida Dem Annette Taddeo's Corporate Welfare Bill

Newly minted Democrat Annette Taddeo has introduced a bill (SB 1606) That would create the “Florida Motion Picture Capital Corporation” Basically lining the pockets of Hollywood execs. here
-----
She said “This effort will bring high paying jobs, grow the middle class, have a positive impact on small businesses."

This is not always true. Hillsborough County paid the producers of The Infiltrator $250.000, they were in the bay area 8 days. Tim Burton got $100.00. Ben Affleck tried to extort money from us or he would move his production of "Live By Night" which took place in Ybor City to Savannah, Ga. We held firm and he did. The film was a flop, loosing  $75 million.
-----
Her plan will eventually need a “one and done” infusion
of $10-20 million.
-----
Some history: In 2010, lawmakers set aside nearly $300 million for incentives to bring movies and television projects to Florida.

Florida Democratic Progressive Caucus Responds to Trump's Racist Comment

Coral Springs - Michael Calderin, Vice-President of the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida, has released the following statement:
It may come as some surprise that the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida understands President Trump's recent inflammatory comment.
Let us provide some context. After all, as Floridians, we have been living in the presence of a shithole for years. And the disgust has grown exponentially over the last year, particularly as it was occupied for nearly a quarter of 2017 by the most rancid, foul-mouthed person known around the world.
We urge the residents of Palm Beach County to strongly object to the shitholes that are Mar-a-Lago, its owner, and his guests. With the irreversible damage being caused, we can only hope there are grounds for legal action to rid this blight from our otherwise beautiful land.

Rebutting Marco Rubio's Social Security, Medicare Myths

Marco Rubio is promising to target Americans’ earned benefits this year. “We need to generate economic growth which generates revenue, while reducing spending. That will mean instituting structural changes to Social Security and Medicare for the future,” Rubio told an interviewer. Of course, by “structural changes,” he really means cutting benefits to pay for tax breaks for the wealthy and profitable corporations.
-----
These remarks are consistent with what Rubio has advocated since well before his failed 2016 presidential bid. In a 2014 speech to the National Press Club, he proposed raising the Social Security retirement age which is itself a massive benefit cut. here
