Trump’s battle in New York turns increasingly personal

Former President Trump’s civil trial over his business practices in New York City, where he built his business brand and won international fame, seems to have struck a nerve.

Trump, the front-runner for the GOP’s presidential nomination next year, is facing charges in Washington, D.C., for his attempts to remain in power after losing the 2020 election; in Georgia for attempting to overturn the state’s 2020 election results; in New York for an alleged hush money scheme to keep an affair quiet; and in Florida for his retention and handling of classified materials after leaving the White House.

Florida Democrats Recoiling

Florida Democrats are rising in opposition to the news Joe Biden is vetting a running mate who once lamented the death of
“Comandante en jefe” Fidel Castro.
---
Karen Bass‘ comments about the longtime Cuban leader following his death in 2016 — when she respectfully called him “comandante en jefe” (in Spanish, commander in chief) — is politically poisonous in Miami, home to many exiles from socialist Latin American regimes that include Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
---
Florida Dems have spent two years fighting a renewed GOP effort to brand them as socialists.

Hillsborough County GOP Coup Attempt Averted

Commission Chairwoman Sandy Murman withdrew her proposal to eliminate countywide seats and, instead, create nine single-member districts.
-----
They know the GOP brand is so tarnished they now have a new scheme, to switch from partisan to non-partisan the elections for sheriff, property appraiser and other offices established in the state Constitution. here

Trump And Rick Scott Not Buddies Anymore?

Now that he is running for senate is
he trying to keep his distance
 from the disaster?

He did not mention Trump during his campaign event in Orlando and dodged a question on Fox News whether he'd ask Trump to campaign with him. here

We Are Under Attack On Facebook

For telling the truth!
The Corporate Democrats time is over. They know it. Millennials want nothing to do with their brand of politicsThey are in desperate mode right now. Trying to grasp at any thing they can to hold on to power.
-----
I would not put to much stock in what happened in Alabama. If you guys couldn't beat that disgusting human being you would really be in trouble. You can't be the anti Trump party forever.
-----
Eyes Wide Shut
Open your eyes. The Democratic party. as is, is only a token opposition to the GOP. An illusion. to make you think you actually have a choice.
Look at the facts:
You have 3 local Dems Yvonne Yolie Capin, Guido Maniscalco, and Frank Reddick in a movement to make a Trump supporter Mayor of Tampa. Ms. Capin attended his fundraiser, Victor DiMaio, former chairman of the county's Democratic Hispanic Caucus was also there.   Their future with the grassroots is surely over.
-----
Also, one way to tell where a candidate stands on the working class is to look at the venue they choose to hold their events. If you can't afford to buy a beer, beware!

Rick Scott, To Re-Brand The GOP In Trump's Image

to re-brand and re-invent
the Republican Party
in the image of President Donald Trump

The Death Of The GOP Brand

Many Republicans think Donald Trump’s nomination is destroying any chance for growth it once had and leaving the GOP to wither and die on Trump vineyard vines. here

“My general sense, looking at this election, is that what we’re witnessing here is the end of something much more than the beginning of something,” Yuval Levin, editor of the conservative policy journal National Affairs.

GOP Florida Latino Problem

Emerging data from the Sunshine State indicates the GOP could be in a deep, deep hole there in the increasingly likely case that Donald Trump is the nominee.
----------
“In this critical swing state, it is clear to us that Republicans continue to suffer substantial brand damage amongst all segments of the ascending electorate (younger voters, Hispanics & No Major Party voters) and this presidential campaign has clearly exacerbated these attitudes,” Ryan Tyson, a Republican who serves as the group’s vice president of political operations, wrote in a memo to his members.
One of the most astounding — and depressing — results for Republicans like Tyson was the percentage of likely Hispanic Florida voters who have a negative impression of Trump: 87 percent. Only 10 percent viewed him favorably. here

Demise Of GOP On Full Display At The Miami Debate

On Thursday night, as the four remaining GOP candidates debated, hundreds of people from across Florida took to the streets outside the University of Miami to protest the party’s rhetoric on immigration, women’s health, the Puerto Rican debt crisis, and the minimum wage. here
----------
Not enough old white guys.
The Republican Party has a demographics problem. A recent analysis found that while GOP frontrunner Donald Trump may be energizing a subset of white male voters who normally don’t participate in politics, he is driving away the very groups Republicans need to win the White House this fall: young people, women, naturalized immigrants, Latinos, and blue collar workers. Trump has done so much damage to the GOP’s brand with these groups that he would need to win more than 70 percent of all white men to make up for it,

Brand GOP Tax Plans Benefit Rich

Jeb Bush went to Detroit and talked about leveling the playing field. Marco Rubio wrote a book about helping the working class. Rand Paul is promising to expand the Republican Party beyond its
traditional base.

Yet all three Republican presidential candidates have offered tax proposals that would, for reasons such as nomination politics and tax rate realities, overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest. here

GOP 2016 Catastrophic Election
A new Zogby Analytics Poll of 850 adults 18-34 years old conducted on August 25 reveals that if Millennials turnout to vote, the GOP faces nothing short of a catastrophic election. The Zogby Poll was conducted online among that age cohort who are smart phone users

Hillsborough County Republican Dumbass

Valrico businessman and Republican kingmaker Sam Rashid went a bit to far in a Facebook posting last week, referring to three unnamed Hillsborough County Circuit Judges as “dumbasses. The posting could prove an embarrassment to the presidential campaign of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, a longtime friend of Rashid who appointed him to the commission. here

The Death Of Conservatism In America

Republicans and conservatives
have a brand problem.
Republicans are baffled by Hillary Clinton’s persistent lead in the polls despite months of bad publicity. the Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Monday showing Clinton ahead of both Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio by 6 points, Scott Walker by 10, and Rand Paul by 3.
The New York Times/CBS poll released a day later
showed what the GOP is up against:
Only 29 percent of Americans had a favorable view of the Republican Party,
while 43 percent had a positive view of the Democrats. The survey also documented a steady but little-noticed trend: Americans, by their own self-description, are becoming less conservative. here

Brand GOP: Victor Crist and Al Higginbotham

Two years ago hundreds of people demanded that we start the conversation on transportation, the commissioners responded by creating Go Hillsborough to find out what the public wants.
The number one selection of 16 categories: transit.

Yet, two Commissioners
Victor Crist and Al Higginbotham
told the Tampa Tribune they intend to derail the Go Hillsborough public input process before it’s over. What's worse the public proposal isn't line with what citizens have already asked for: there is ZERO transit included.

County Commissioners, We join others in asking you do three things:
1) Keep your promise and listen to the public: they want a balance including transit
2) Work with other leaders to come up with a transportation proposal for all citizens
& for future generations
3) Stop trying to derail the process by making proposals before it is over
